Rogue Company getting free-to-play and crossplay in beta

Rogue Company Goes Into Open Beta

The unique and somewhat cynical shooter from Epic and First Watch Games is going into beta this week with some pretty big changes. The game is finally headed into its first major beta that’s open to the public, and you can play for free.

When the two companies teamed up to make a game, they wanted to make a statement, much like our pal Ronin. The sassy but confident warrior featured in the first main trailer fro the game is doing a little weapon shopping, and we get to see what kind of game we’re in for. The player will take on seemingly endless legions of nameless, but nonetheless deadly foes with all manner of explosive and powerful weaponry. It’s a game with plenty of ammo in its style magazine, and has a flair that feels right at home in the cyberpunk genre.

If you think this kind of game might be for you, meet Ronin in the trailer down below. Rogue Company is now available on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC via Epic Games.

The game entered the closed beta phase on July 20, 2020, and is going into its open beta today, bringing some new content to the table and pushing more style and options to the player. The game is a 4v4 team-based multiplayer shooter that offers multiple class and weapon loadout options for the optimal experience. And judging from player numbers, people seem to like it.

First Watch Games is the formation that’s behind the game, made up of developers and other folks from Hi-Rez and it looks like they’ve done pretty well in their first outing. According to the studio they have gotten more than 2 million players into the early game access since July.

First Watch Games has also revealed the official PC system requirements for this F2P game. The publisher recommends using an Intel i7 with 16GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 960. The game will also require 20GB of free hard-disk space.
