Indie dev Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team has released Rise & Shine on the Nintendo Switch. It’s time to fight off an alien invasion, and you’re probably going to be cranky, because the green-skins decided to start blowing things up before you even had your coffee. It’s time for some revenge.
The stylish action shooter originally debuted on the PC and Xbox One, before being ported to the PS4, and now it’s landed on the Nintendo Switch. The 2D action is fast-paced and extremely smooth, and it’s a joy to play. As you play through the game as Rise, with your trusty sidearm Shine, you’ll need to fend off hordes of aliens and save the planet from their evil machinations.
The game mixes platforming, shooter mechanics and “bullet hell” boss fights in a symphony of destruction that must be seen to be believed. The unique design of the main character and the enemies also adds to the style presented in Rise & Shine. The waves of enemies are relentless but fun, so if you enjoy a good mix of wave shooters, difficult bosses and some light puzzle-solving, Rise & Shine might be a great addition to your Switch library.
