Double Fine has announced some plans for the future, and fans should be excited. In a blog post to fans on Fig this week, the studio announced it was “already splitting up into various teams and starting different projects that we think you’ll enjoy.” They teased fans a bit, as well as thanked them for the support over these tough few years.
The company even shared some wonderful footage of the iconic Tim Shcafer and Jack Black teaming up to play the new game. Check that out below.
So even though we don’t know what the future holds, it would seem the studio is ready to face it. Though the studio didn’t give fans any details of what projects they were working, but it did say that “Every game is a chance to explore new ideas, new visual styles or gameplay, emotions, and more.” That doesn’t give us much hint as to what Double Fine is planning, but it should be very exciting.
The studio will also continue to work on Psychonauts 2, at least in terms of fixing bugs and adding a few tweaks here and there as needed. Along with that comes a deluge of support requests and other issues that the team needs to deal with. Psychonauts 2 and Brutal Legend developer Double Fine will do the best they can.
The company also promises to do its best in dealing with this. “Our focus moves to these new projects but we’re also intensely tracking incoming support tickets sent our way and working with distributors to get folks their rewards as soon as our strange world allows.” The future might look a little brighter thanks to Double Fine and their efforts, it seems.
