Bandai Namco has just unleashed a new trailer for CODE VEIN showing off plenty of the new combat abilities and gear mods in the game. This game is turning into quite the bloody spectacle, in the best way.
The big focus for this new gameplay snippet is the powerful Blood Veils and the Blood Code. Blood Veil and a special blood type named Blood Code have their own unique mechanics as well, offering some very interesting potential to players. Blood Veil is essentially a leech mechanic which allows people playing CODE VEIN to string together powerful combos while at the same time keeping their lifeforce in tact. Blood Veils each have their own unique name and style, such as Stinger, Ogre and more, each offering fast or strong attacks.
The other major mechanic is the weapon customization system offered by Blood Code. Blood Cods offer unique abilities that augment gear with everything from unique attacks to special modifiers on certain abilities.
CODE VEIN has showed off not just some stellar and gory gameplay, but also showcased plenty of story in other trailers. There’s the mysterious and beautiful Mia, then there’s the much more vicious Io. And if you want to see more of the attacks and brutal combat, check that out too.
Code Vein is set to launch in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Even though the game was delayed earlier this year due to polish issues, it’s still up for pre-order over at Amazon.
