NormalBoots cuts ties with ProJared following the latter being accused of inappropriate conduct

YouTube

YouTuber ProJared, real name Jared Knabenbauer, was recently at the center of a major controversy, one that’s cited by NormalBoots as a motivator for severing ties.

According to the allegations, ProJared was accused of soliciting explicit pictures from fans in interactions, that accusation comes from ProJared’s wife, Heidi O’ Ferrall.

NormalBoots is a channel known for creating collaborative content with a variety of YouTubers, with tons of content created with the likes of DidYouKnowGaming, The Completionist, and PeanutButterGamer. Of course, the list of those the channel has worked with includes ProJared. Their gaming-focused content is incredibly popular too, so it makes sense why this happened, as these kinds of allegations tend to be rather toxic to channels and brands.

In their official response, seen in the Tweet below, Normalboots cited the need to protect their community and take careful but immediate action on this issue. It’s unfortunate that things like this continue to happen, but it’s good to see that people are responding with a proper acknowledgement and ostracism.

WHAT DRIVES NORMALBOOTS IS THE ENERGY OF OUR SUPPORTERS,” THE COMPANY SAID IN ITS OFFICIAL STATEMENT. “WE CARE GREATLY ABOUT THEIR PROTECTION AND SAFETY. IT’S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A TRUE COMMUNITY IF ALL OF US DON’T FEEL SAFE, WHETHER IT’S AN ONLINE SPACE OR A CONVENTION. WE ARE FULLY COMMITTED TO THIS GOAL AND WILL NOT TOLERATE LESS.

This is not the first time that YouTube channel NormalBoots parted ways with one of its collaborators due to controversy. Previously, NormalBoots decided to cut ties with JonTron after the latter continually promoted white nationalist and other reactionary talking points while defending his own racist statements.
