Hitman HD Enhanced Collection announced

IO Interactive has announced that two of the better old Hitman games in the legendary franchise are getting a special HD re-releases as part of the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection.

The collection includes Hitman Absolution & Blood Money, and both titles are being bundled together for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Both versions of the game will be the full and original titles, with spruced up HD visuals, including 4K support. In addition to much more quality visuals, the lighting, shaders and overall texture work is getting a refresh too. The game will run at full 60 FPS with these fresh new visuals as well.

The first game in the series, Hitman: Codename 47, came out in 2000. The franchise has also spawned two Hollywood films. 2007’s Hitman and 2015’s reboot Hitman: Agent 47. While the latest entry into the franchise, the incredible Hitman 2, recently came out on November 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

I’ll be interested to see what other game franchises get this treatment. Resident Evil 2 is joining the ranks of remade and remastered titles at the end of the month. The likes of God of War, BioShock, various Batman games and a ton of other iconic gaming creations have landed their own amazing relaunches over the years, so I’d expect great things from the Hitman HD Enhanced Collection.

Hitman HD Enhanced Collection will launch on January 11 as a digital download title for both PS4 and Xbox One.
