SEGA has made some changes to the release schedule for their own retro mini-console, the Mega Drive Mini. The announcement was made on the same day as Sony announced their own miniature Classic Playstation, and in the same week the a SEGA Classics collection was announced for the Nintendo Switch.
So it seems that the hype train for retro gaming consoles getting a rebirth might be getting a little overloaded.

No new release date has been given, so we’ll have to pay attention to see if there is any further clarification about future plans for the console. SEGA has said that they want a simultaneous launch worldwide, so it’s understandable why the delay happened.
