Conarium is the creation of Dutch indie game studio, Zoetrope Interactive, bringing a particularly spooky and horrifying bit of Lovecraft influences to gamers in a unique experience. The player is placed into the shoes of Frank Gilman, a man stuck in a strange and alien environment. Conarium is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s novella At the Mountains of Madness, but largely set after the original story.
The game uses intricate puzzles, and a creepy atmospheric soundtrack, and tons of varying choice to craft a suspense-filled narrative, one which even has multiple endings. It’s definitely the choice for any horror fans looking for an intense bit of fun.
The console versions will also include Xbox One X and PS4 Pro support, allowing gamers to choose between modes favoring resolution or performance. The resolution mode will run at 30 FPS, so the stunning visuals of the game really manage to shine. The game is the same as the PC version, as far as I can see. So don’t be concerned about missing something if you play one platform or the other.
