Electronic Arts is pumping out a bunch of new The Sims 4 content over the next few months. The Sims 4 will be getting three new content packs over that same period in 2020. According to SimGuruDuke, a member of the community team at EA, the team is hard at work despite the disruption caused by COVID-19. The developers have continue to work on the popular game via remote work, although progress has been slower than it should be. The team has been working from home since March 16th, and there are now several batches of DLC heading out in the next six months.
SimGuruDuke shared some of the details of the content and the overall plan in a new announcement to the community. According to SimGuruDuke the team behind the life sim video game is “so excited about the future content” coming to the game. “Things have been a bit slower with all of our kids and animals demanding attention throughout the day, but as always, we are here to make sure The Sims 4 is functioning whenever you want to play,” stated SimGuruDuke.
“We are currently hard at work on the new Community Voted Stuff Pack,” says the developer. “That pack is really coming together and it has been great having all of your input to help shape it.” The next expansion pack is said to be a “surprise,” and SimGuruDuke is “super excited about the theme.” This particular batch of content contains elements chosen by the community, and the combination of community desires and new cosmetic content will be the first of the new The Sims 4 releases.
And in even more good news, EA has announced plans to “help our community of players connect with each other (and us!) in this time of social distancing.” It’s not full multiplayer features though, in case you were wondering. The devs will reveal more details about this new initiative soon.
The Sims 4 is out now for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
