Dragon Age 4 is officially named Dragon Age: Dreadwolf

Dragon Age 4 is officially in the works, and has been given a name. Dragon Age 4 is officially named Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. It’s still very early in full-time development to get more details, but it’s nice to know that the team is plowing ahead. BioWare has been working on the Dragon Age franchise for years, and its fans have been eager to hear more about the continuation of the franchise. This particular game has been in pre-production for some time.

Though it would seem that development has not been without issue. Following the collapse of Anthem, BioWare has been in trouble. The studio even bled some key talent when the GM of BioWare and executive producer of Dragon Age 4 quit abruptly in 2020. What impact that development had on the game isn’t known, but things have likely been chaotic for some time. This has probably contributed a lot to how long it took to hear more news about the RPG.

The name was revealed by the Dragon Age Twitter account, complete with a new logo. So far not many details have been revealed, but fans are already speculating about what this new game could bring. As of now, there’s not much else to go on, but there are a few things we can learn, keep reading to figure out what BioWare has teased so far.

BioWare did give fans a blog post about the upcoming game, revealing a few key details. The name itself is a reference to the antagonist of the game, Solas. They also said this new game would be approachable to fans both new and old. The game’s story will center around Solas, a powerful diety sowing chaos, and what effects his decisions have on the game’s world. And it’s very likely that the player and a band of allies will have a hand in stopping it.

In regards to a release date, there was no firm news in the update. “We suspect you have questions and they’ll be answered in time. While the game won’t be releasing this year, we’re growing closer to that next adventure. Rest assured, Solas is placing his pieces on the board as we speak.”

So we’re probably not going to hear much more about Dragon Age 4 for at least a few months. We already knew Dragon Age 4 wasn’t coming in 2022, as previous news revealed.
