Let’s talk about holiday NPCs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Franklin and Jingle

When are Franklin and Jingle being added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Franklin and Jingle are the next holiday NPCs that are about to get put into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Jingle will be added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the late November update and Franklin will join them. THey both currently exist as Amiibos, so they’re very much likely to at least be in the game. There’s the answer, but why are they coming to our islands?

Well, Franklin and Jingle are the respective Thanksgiving and Christmas NPCs. Much like various other NPCs that visit your islands, these animal friends have their own unique personalities and items attached.

Franklin is a Thanksgiving turkey NPC. He has appeared in almost every game except for Animal Forest, Animal Forest+ and Wild World. Being that he’s attached to the holiday all about eating, he’s all about cooking. In previous games, he would ask for help cooking these meals. We may see him popping up during the Harvest Festival and Autumn Moon events, so expect a visit around November.

When found in a town in previous games, Franklin would ask for certain ingredients and one special ingredient. The player must ask around town for the various neighbors to pitch in cooking elements, and then bring back the collected foodstuffs to Franklin. Sometimes a villager would ask for an item in trade, which the player would then need to craft. Once you’ve gone through all of this trading and food hunting, Franklin prepared four dishes and awarded the player a unique piece of themed furniture.

Jingle is a bit more simple. In Animal Crossing, Jingle can be found wandering around town starting at 8:00 PM on Toy Day (December 24th). Each time you talk to them you have a chance to receive a gift from their sack of toys and goodies. You can also influence the items he gives by answering his questions. He may ask you what you like and present some options. Answering with “foldable things” may result in a table or a shirt, for example. Jingle would also give out gifts to villagers, or for the player to hand out.
