Devil May Cry 5’s Free Bloody Palace DLC Out Now

Devil May Cry 5’s Free Bloody Palace DLC Out Now

For once, this announcement on April Fools isn’t actually a bad joke. It turns out that Capcom just dropped the Bloody Palace DLC as a free update for all versions of Devil May Cry 5.

Longtime fans of the franchise will remember that name quite well. Going all the way back to Devil May Cry 2, fans of the hack-and-slash have seen this hellish locale in one form or another. And while its mechanics and setting have varied a bit over the years, the basic form of the content has remained the same. The Bloody palace is basically the long-term end-game of DMC. In Devil May Cry 5, it’s a 101-floor extravaganza of violence that shows off the best-of-the-best in terms of in-game skill and abilities. If you wanted a place to make Dante and co. look as stylish as possible while slaughtering demons, this is it.

The gameplay itself is both a wave-based survival mode, with like we said more than 100 levels, while also adding in an additional layer of competitiveness with a “score attack” element. In essence, the entire DLC is a challenge to see how efficiently you can dispatch the hordes of hellspawn.

Don’t expect anything else besides that though, as there is no new unlockables like secret moves or characters in the Bloody Palace update. And there’s also no co-op within the mode itself, so gamers won’t be able to take on the Bloody Palace with a friend. You can however pick between your favorite out of the choices of Dante, Nero or V.

There is a bit of bad news with this launch though, as we already knew from an announcement a couple months ago, Capcom isn’t planning to put out anymore post-launch content for the game. So if you’re not taking a tour of this particular landmark, you’re out of luck once you finish the main story if you want to keep playing.
