The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan shows release date and pre-orders

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan - Dev Diary #2: A Watery Grave

So those of you who liked Until Dawn have some good news this week. That’s because Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco have finally revealed when they’re next horror game is dropping.

Ever since Until Dawn came out in 2015, gamers and horror fans alike have been pining for more of the sweet interactive horror and dynamic choices that game brought to the table. Of course, the expert marketing for the game that hid a lot of of the twists of the story helped a fair bit, but needless to say, The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan has a heck of a pair of shoes to fill.

The story of this new game is actually part of an anthology which will tell multiple possibly connected stories. We also now know that the second entry could be called House of Ashes, thanks to a trademark filing which was uncovered. The first entry follows a group of adventurous folks as they exploring an abandoned WWII wreck. And once again, Supermassive is being coy with what they reveal, although there’s no doubt that some funny and subversive twists are headed our way with this game too.

We’ll finally get to find out if the game manages to do that when it releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on August 30.

You can check out the newest trailer for the game down below. In that trailer, we see not only the confirmed release date, but also an interesting new detail. The tone of the game seems to have taken on a much more mystic feel, as I certainly got occult overtones from this new trailer. There’s some kind of murder mystery going on here, and it might be connected with some deep and forgotten secrets.
