Two Point Hospital launches today for PS4, Xbox One and Switch

Two Point Hospital

Two Point Hospital, the spiritual successor to Bullfrog’s excellent and hilarious Theme Hospital, has finally been rushed to the operating room for consoles. Two Point Hospital drops today, alongside a brand new trailer, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Not only do you get to cure laughably insane diseases, but you also get to manage a hospital staffed seemingly entirely by crazy weirdos with an affliction-esque hunger for KitKats.

Said insane diseases are all here. There’s Light-Headedness which turns a patient’s head into a giant lightbulb. Turtle Head does something similar but with turtles this time. Then there are the much wielder afflictions like Mock Star that turns patients into constant Freddie Mercury impersonators. And because you have to inject a little color into the lives of those you treat, they may be infected with Grey Anatomy.

Your job is to treat these illnesses and run a profitable hospital, and the game is paying attention. Each year your hospital is ranked among the competition and the outcome of your funding for new research and treatment initiatives depends on doing well in these evaluations.

All in all, it’s a fun and interesting romp through the minds of the developers and their reference-heavy humor. The development team has also been slowly expanding the game with new DLC and updates post-launch. The new game modes, Sandbox Mode and The Superbug Initiative, add new challenges and a layer of creativity. These will be included with the console releases, as the DLCs ‘Bigfoot’ and ‘Pebberley Island’ are included with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions for free.
