Deep Silver has announced that as part of honoring the legacy of the Saints Row franchise, they have quietly been working on a full remaster of Saints Row: The Third. It has been nearly nine years since the release of this game, and in that time many fans have wanted to return to the land of Stillwater. Now they will get the chance to do that one more time.
The publisher has tapped developer Sperasoft to handle the project, with the release for Saints Row: The Third Remastered slated to happen for all major platforms. The redone version is due for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 22, 2020. Also included in this release are all three expansion packs and over 30 pieces of DLC from the original version.
The remaster includes a fully redone lighting engine as well as all the cars and weapons and other items in the game getting an overhaul. With all-new environments, character models and other visual upgrades, fans of Saints Row: The Third will get the perfect version of the over-the-top sequel. In a new gameplay trailer released today alongside the announcement, fans got to see firsthand what’s in store for them.
