Bethesda announced that the Rise of the Ghosts expansion will release for Rage 2 quite soon, later this month in fact. The new expansion is exploding with new content, and it looks pretty cool.
Rage 2 Rise of the Ghosts is a new expansion due for the shooter, bringing in a whole new level of crazy. And in a game known for its over-the-top and neon-painted wasteland, that’s saying something. Avalanche and Id have done a very good job of expanding the game in previous patches and updates before this expansion. . In July, we saw the release of the New Game Plus mode. But that new game mode is just the beginning of what the developers have planned.
The big new draw for the expansion is more than just a better realized story as well. The wastelend is growing in more than one way. There’s some new weapons and other items, like the Feltrite Laser Launcher, which can disintegrate enemies. Speaking of enemies, the story is shifting to dealing with a threatening new menace. Called the Ghosts, these new threats have something to do with the Void, a new force in the world of Rage 2. And yes, players will also get access to the Overgrown City, a brand new story area chocked full of quests and loot.
If you already own the Deluxe Edition of Rage 2, you will automatically gain access to the expansion upon release. And those who want to pick it up have a few other options. Rage 2 Rise of the Ghosts can be bought in-game via the store for 500 RAGE Coins, or $15.00. You can also upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for 2000 RAGE Coins. This upgrade offers players the base game, expansion, as well as some in-game features and items. There’s a Doom-inspired BFG, access to the Wasteland Wizard Cheat Codes, some cosmetic stuff, and a progress booster that gives you increased loot drops.
