Pokémon Legends: Arceus is finally almost here. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set to launch on Jan. 28. Just before that time, though, the developers have been busy hyping it up. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is one of the most anticipated games of 2022 for the Nintendo Switch, and it’s easy to see why. By focusing on a previously-unseen era of the games, it has fans wondering what’s coming. With a new overview trailer, we finally get to see more of the gameplay.
Sure, the iconic battling and capturing will still be there, but there’s likely much more beneath the surface we haven’t seen yet. For one thing, we now know that the core story revolves around trying to create the world’s first Pokédex. This would mean that we might be in a time when the beasts were first discovered, leading to some very interesting legendary encounters. We can see more in the new trailer from Nintendo. As for what to expect, it looks like a mixed roster is a big thing here. And judging from some new leaks, much larger Pokémon will also be in the game.

There’s also a bunch of new systems for items that work very differently from previous games. The idea of exploring the ancient Pokémon world is an intriguing one, and it will be a trip to see where Game Freak and The Pokémon Company go with this one.
As with all new releases in this franchise, there’s sure to be more than what we see here. Given that the game takes place far before the current franchise in the timeline, there’s bound to be new and hidden mechanics. One of the most important elements is the exploratory Excursions. Trainers get to go on these special missions, hunting for hidden treasure and more in a structured path through each mission.
