New Switch commercial teases Final Fantasy VII coming soon

Nintendo Switch Has Surpassed 32 Million Units Sold

A new trailer from Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch console shows gamers to play the game their way. And during the course of the trailer, there’s a tease for a new port to the platform that has fans extremely excited. Contained with in the new trailer is a tease for two new games coming to the platform.

One major announcement is something gamers have been waiting on for months. It turns out that Final Fantasy VII is making the jump to the portable console quite soon. A particular release date for the classic title has still yet to be given. But based on the little snippet of gameplay teased in the new trailer, it seems like it happening sometime in 2019 is highly likely.

Nintendo is already planning to bring other classic RPG entries to the platform. There’s two Final Fantasy titles heading to the console in 2019 along. So far a Final Fantasy X bundle and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are both landing on Switch in April. And since Square Enix and Nintendo will want to stagger the releases of these major titles to allow for maximum visibility of each game, the plan to have the new titles released throughout Q1 or Q2 makes since. I think a release any time in March or May for both FF7 and FF9 could make sense. Although this is entirely speculation.

In other news for the Switch and Nintendo, things are looking amazing for the Japanese company going into 2019. According to recent reports, the Nintendo Switch has become a major success in terms of games and hardware sales.  As of December 31, 2018, the Switch has now collectively sold 32.27 million units worldwide.
