The constant exercise in frustration and that is the amazing Switch creative tool of Super Mario Maker is getting a sequel later this year.
Fans of the original game and its absurdly detailed and customizable map creation system were really impressed when the first game came out, and now it’s just going to be further improved. Nintendo made sure to announced that the primary focus for the new game was to expand the potential of the map maker in every possible way.
This extends to making items which were not in the original present now. Things like the bell power-up in Super Mario 3D World or new sloped tiles and other path combinations are being put into the sequel, giving players many more options to frustrate their friends with. Nintendo will also expand the color palette for players to use, as well as the shader selection, allowing for more uniquely themed levels.
So all in all, if you’re a fan either of the classic Mario experience or the practice of driving your friends up the wall with difficult puzzles of level design, Super Mario Maker 2 is just for you.
