All about the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Warp Pipe

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Warp Pipe Explained

A bunch of new items themed after the iconic Mario franchise are being added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo is adding these items on March 1, via a patch that just released today, to allow for dozens of new DIY items and decorative pieces to be placed on players islands. This is all being done to celebrate the upcoming major anniversary of the Italian icon. The coolest of these is the Warp Pipe. You really want the warp pipe because it actually works. Here’s everything we know about this rad new item.

How do warp pipes work in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

When you place two or more of the pipes down, the game will teleport you between them. This means you can basically use them to fast travel around the island. When you interact with one, you will be teleported to another on placed on your item. This can be useful for getting from one side of an island to another, there is a problem though.

If you place down more than two, the destination is randomized. You can place them inside player houses as well, adding to the chaos. There’s no clear indication as to an upper limit on how many pipes you can place though. It just appears that adding too many would be a real hassle to use for quick navigation. You could use them to direct traffic in a crowded maze.

If you’re active on Nookazon, you could pen in the warp pipes and basically give visitors a fast travel point to your store for trading. They definitely have some use. Or maybe, if you visit a lot of other islands, placing one pipe inside your house and having the other by Dodo Airlines can speed things up.
