Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, and a bunch more are coming to Switch and Xbox One

Nintendo Switch

Square Enix has made a huge announcement for Final Fantasy fans this week with the announcement that a bunch of games from the series are coming to new platforms.

The Nintendo Direct stream earlier today showcased a bunch of new games and remasters of classics, and Nintendo are really knocking it out of the park. But that’s not the best bit so far, the company has just said that multiple games from the iconic RPG franchise are coming to the console. World of Final Fantasy: Maxima making its way to the Switch in November. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered and Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon will land later in 2019 as well. But the big news was that Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X and X-2, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age would land on the console in the future as well.

Square Enix also said that Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon and Crystal Chronicles Remastered will also be arriving on Xbox One at some point.

All in all, fans have a ton of reasons to be excited. This is the first time any of these games are being released on a Nintendo system and it looks like a whole bunch of sales are about to be made of the portable console in anticipation for these releases. I’m pretty excited, and equally surprised, that so many great games are coming to new platforms. Now if we can just get more cross-platform magic applied to Nintendo games as well, I’d be really happy.
