Monster Hunter World releases gameplay trailer for Behemoth crossover

Monster Hunter World Summer Events Behemoth

Capcom and Square Enix showcased the first epic gameplay of the upcoming Behemoth hunt coming to Monster Hunter World with the Final Fantasy XIV crossover. Like the other promo material for these events, Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, Executive Director Kaname Fujioka, and Director Yuya Tokuda, have returned to walk us through it. Although in this case they joined by Final Fantasy XIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida.

The Behemoth is the first of a series of crossover events between Monster Hunter World and Final Fantasy XIV. The main hunt for this massive beast takes the form of a new quest, titled “He Taketh it with His Eyes” with the main objective being of course to slay the Behemoth. You’ll need hunter rank 16 or higher to participate, and you’ll have 35 minutes to complete the mission. This quest will always be available, unlike others like Kulve Taroth.

Players can expect a complex, multi-phase fight against this monster. Judging from the livestream footage, which you can see below as well, there are some new mechanics unique to the Behemoth fight that FF XIV players might recognize. You’ll need to be quick on your feet if you hope to survive this encounter.

If you weren’t excited about the upcoming Behemoth event in Monster Hunter World, you probably will be after watching this badass new trailer. Check it out down below. If you want to see more, check out some of the screenshots released previously. Or maybe you want to learn about the ongoing Summer Festival. All of this looks really cool. And with the PC release only a few weeks away, I’m really excited fo the future of MHW.
