DiRT Rally 2.0 coming back to the track in 2019

Dirt Rally 2

DiRT Rally 2.0 is coming soon from Codemasters, the developers of some pretty great racing games like ONRUSH and several F1 games, and it’s bringing a whole new breed of racing that further improves upon the DiRT Rally series.

The DiRT series has long been held as a paragon of off-road racing sims, and this new game is looking to tighten that grip on excellence. Players can expect six new rally locations, in addition to those from the first game, as well as dozens of vehicles. There’s also a whole truckload of branded and racing team vehicles in DiRT Rally 2.0. Some of these will even be from the most recent 2018 season of Rally racing.

And anyone who was annoyed by the procedural track generation in DiRT 4 need not be concerned, all the tracks in this game will be handmade.

Speaking about the prospects for the new racing title, Codemasters’ Chief Games Designer Ross Gowing had the following to say about DiRT Rally 2.0:

We are thrilled to finally be able to talk about DiRT Rally 2.0. Rally is incredibly important to Codemasters and the entire team is absolutely dedicated to creating the most authentic experience possible in a game.

Our passionate, knowledgeable community helped to make DiRT Rally a special title. We have been working with a selection of that community alongside a roster of real world rally drivers to ensure that we meet their high standards. We are not afraid to make a challenging game. Driving a rally car down a stage is not easy and we want players to experience that same adrenaline rush from driving on the edge.

DiRT Rally Rally 2.0 launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 26, 2019. You can check out the trailer for the new game down below.
