Days Gone shows off new, and highly emotional, story trailer

Days Gone Story Trailer

Sony has just unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, Days Gone. In this new and very emotional trailer, we see what Deacon St. John’s life was like before everything went to Hell. Bend Studio are crafting a somber and desperate world, and Deacon’s life is part of building that bleak world, so let’s take a look into his past.

Deacon St. John, the bike-riding and tattooed lonely man which stars in Days Gone, has not had an easy life up to this point. We see hints of him having run with some rough characters in this new trailer as it flashes between Deacon’s memories and the current apocalyptic wasteland. The trailer melds a bit of sobering storytelling with a really wonderful musical track. For those wondering, the song is by Billy Raffoul and it’s titled “Hell or High Water.” And as Deacon has to brutally fight his way through a gang of thugs that have been hunting him, we see that this is the kind of world where you’re never truly safe or happy. It’s a very sobering look at the kind of world Bend Studio is creating, a world no one really wants to exist in, but they continue to try against all the odds.

That lack of safety and constant despair is thanks in no small part to the massive hordes of Freakers. Four types of Freakers have been seen so far, each offering their own challenges, and you need to keep your wits about you if you want to survive. Deacon does have one constant in his life at the moment, his trusty motorcycle. This hell-on-wheels machine can be upgraded over the course of the game, and is probably the one thing that has saved his hide more than anything else.

Days Gone will be out exclusively for PS4 on April 26th, and people are getting more excited about it. Even though the game was delayed, people still cannot wait to get their hands on it. Check out the trailer for the story elements in the game down below.
