Bungie’s 30th Anniversary event is live in Destiny 2. Players have a huge batch of new quests to complete to earn unique rewards. Prepare to feel nostalgic as the game brings back iconic weapons and gear. Strange Coins and Strange Favor Ranks are the two core elements of this new reward structure. Since it’s a Bungie-themed event, of course, Halo is in the mix. The new weapons added in the event all tie into Halo, either visually or through some reference.
One of the more iconic weapons in the bunch is the Forerunner hand cannon. This little heater packs quite the punch, and players are running all over the place trying to get it. It’s given out as part of the Magnum Opus quest, and you need to do a few steps to get it. Once those are done though, there’s one more thing to worry about. Players will also want to get the Forerunner Catalyst in Destiny 2.
How to get the Forerunner Catalyst in Destiny 2
To get the Forerunner Exotic Catalyst, there’s a very simple process you need to complete. It will take time, but it’s very doable. You need to complete Dares of Eternity runs for Xur until you get to Rank 16. Getting to this rank will unlock the Anomalous Access Card as a usable item. You can also do Bounties to get ranks as well. Dares of Eternity is faster though, especially if you’re farming for Dawning 2021 ingredients.
Once you have the card, you need to continue running Dares of Eternity until you earn a top score of 225,000. Do this and you will get the catalyst.
Using the Forerunner Catalyst adds a perk called The Rock to the weapon. The Perk converts a small amount of your ammo into a grenade when you throw another grenade. Great for clearing out foes in PvE.
