Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed for Google Stadia

Google Stadia

During Google’s Stadia Connect live stream it was announced that CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 would be coming to the streaming service offered by the search giant. Stadia is a new effort headed by Google, meant to essentially be an option for gamers to play the latest video games on any platform they wish. The idea is that any console, phone or other device can be hooked up to a Stadia account and play a variety of games.

So far, Stadia has struggled to gain some traction from fans and gamers for a variety of reasons. Despite having a pretty big backing from Google, even going to recruit industry veteran Jade Raymond, there’s still very little that would attract gamers. For one thing, the huge bandwidth requirements have turned a lot of potential users off entirely.

Google has pushed for a few major attractions though, like a premium tier of the streaming service which offers games like Destiny 2 for free. Although this also opens up complaints about the way pricing is structured, as people still have to pay full price for a game that they’re essentially renting to play via Stadia. So whether you’re a fan of the streaming idea or not, the addition of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 will likely turn a few heads.

The announcement was made as part of a series of trailers and developer diaries released by the team behind the game, and you can check out the full announcement video down below.
