Medievil is getting a full HD remake on PS4, new trailer coming

Medievil full HD remake on PS4

During this week’s episode of the PlayStation Blogcast, Sony’s Shawn Layden showed up to talk about the work on the remake of 1998’s Medievil that’s been creeping along towards release since last year. Other Ocean Interactive is working hard to deliver a faithful remake for the sake of fans, let’s just hope they manage to deliver.

Speaking about the type of game experience the team is going for, Shawn Layden had the following to say:

I think there have been some words that might sound alike but mean different things—like remake and remaster. This is a remake. We’ve taken the original game design and we’ve taken a lot of the key art, and some of the other attributes of the game design and ethos, if you will, and we’re working with a developer called Other Ocean Interactive, and they are remaking MediEvil and that design—the original MediEvil from PS1.

Layden had more news for fans, well a teaser of more news really, as he promised a new trailer for the game will drop on October 31. He also revealed that members of the original development team from 20 years ago have also been consulted for the project to ensure that they get it right.

Tune back in on Halloween to see that trailer and more news about the remake.

Medievil on PS4 has no release date yet.
