Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown gets deep into customization in latest trailer
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has released a new trailer for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown which takes a very close look at the aircraft customization that will feature heavily in the game.
Said customization applies to the many planes featured in the simulator, dozens of iconic military aircraft across multiple roles are rendered in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and you can take all of them for a spin. You start the game with a small selection of planes for a couple different roles, but as you complete sorties you’ll earn in-game cred. That can then be spent on buying new plane fuselages.
And it’s not just new planes that can be purchased and added to your hangar for missions. Each plane can field a huge variety of different loadouts in terms of weapons. Air-to-air missiles, heavy cannons, ground attack ordinance of all kinds of intensity, this and so much more can be strapped to your death machine to be metered out to your enemies.
The newest trailer shows some of this in action, like showing off an AC-130 just devastating ground targets. We get teases for other craft like the F-140 as well.
All of these awesome plans can be kitted out with all manner of paintjobs, skins and visual styles. The game features hundreds of potential combinations, so you can create your own iconic look across an entire squadron of your fighters and bombers if you want.
The game will also feature a VR mode that will allow players to take the game’s missions to the next level. And all the skins and other goodies on your planes will be rendered in this mode in stunning detail.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will release on January 18 for PS4 and Xbox One, and February 1 for PC through Steam. Check out the latest trailer for the game down below.
