Warhammer: Chaosbane launches closed Beta, drops new trailer too

Warhammer: Chaosbane - Closed Beta Launch Trailer

Warhammer: Chaosbane is jumping into the fray against the forces of Chaos this week with a new private beta period, launched alongside a short new gameplay trailer.

Said beta will include a chunk of Act 1 of this new ARPG. The sewers of Nuln, which are infested by Chaosspawn of Nergul and other enemies. The players are charged with clearing these dank places out, and they’ll have a variety of classes and abilities with which to do that. The beta makes two of the classes from the final game available to test out.

There’s the Imperial Captain, a no-nonsense kind of soldier who has one mission, to exterminate Chaos from the realms of man, and will use bruteforce to do it if necessary. Then there’s the Elf mage, a very stoic and aloof individual who also shares in the mission of the Captain.

In terms of gameplay, the beta will allow players to reach level 20, and to take on the mission in the sewers either solo or have up to four players tackling Papa Nergul’s denizens together.

In Warhammer: Chaosbane, players will be able to play as a human, a high elf, a wood elf, or a dwarf as they travel through and experience various iconic locations known to the Warhammer world, including the cursed city of Praag, Nuln, and the old capital of the Empire. As the game is set in the Old World of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles setting, fans can expect to see a lot of similarities in terms of areas and environments with that geographical location.

Since the game was officially announced as an action-RPG from Eko Software, it’s been steadily pumping out plenty of gameplay footage, much to the joy of Warhammer fans. There’s some more gameplay with the delightfully bloody “Rise of Chaos” trailer. There’s also a “first look” segment with developer commentary that’s worth taking a look at.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on June 4th, 2019.
