New Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition showcases combat aspects and story

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Combat and Story Trailer

Bandai Namco has once again released some new details about Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. This time, we’re getting an even more in-depth look at the story than ever before, unless of course you’ve already played the original game.

Since the release of the original Tales of Vesperia in 2008 for the Xbox 360, fans have been clamoring for  more from this franchise, even if it’s just a simple remaster, and now they’re getting their wish. And with the launch of this new version coming in less than a month, Bandai Namco wants to get as much excitement going as they can. To that end, the company released a new trailer for the game this week.

In this trailer, there’s two distinct elements. The first bit of the trailer is all about recapping the story up to this point for new players. The second portion is all about the combat and RPG-related elements that will be central to the gameplay.

The story is a pretty standard JRPG romp, with the player being put into the shoes of Yuri Lowell, as he takes on a grave threat to humanity, all while meeting many new friends along the way. The story will introduce a whole party of characters to take with you on adventures, as well as a cadre of villains that stand in your way. Can you fight your way through and save humanity? You’ll have to play Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition to find out.

That second half of the trailer is all action and combat, so expect plenty of flashy moves from Yuri and his pals. With a four-person party that can be changed on the fly, and tons of unique and magical abilities called Artes to choose from, there’s a huge amount of potential for chaining together interesting combos in the combat sections of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. And you better be ready, because you’re going to need every bit of skill and dexterity you can muster, because there are tons of enemies to take down.

The latest trailer for the game can be found down below. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition launches on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on January 11.

If you’re interested in seeing more of the game, there’s plenty more to see. There’s another gameplay trailer showing more story bits. Fans who are interested in showing their love for the series might want to think about picking up one of the many limited editions of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition.
