The Steam Winter Sale 2018 has begun
As is the yearly tradition, Steam has a huge library of games with a wide variety of discounts on both full games and DLC. This year’s Winter Sale features discounts on AAA and indie titles alike, but those looking for the return of Flash Sales will be disappointed. Valve has yet to bring back that particular feature, despite the feeling among many PC gamers that the system helped promote sales for lesser-known titles more effectively.
Regardless of your opinion of the games on sale, or the level of discounts offered, there’s still lots of great games on sale that would make a great gift for yourself or that PC gamer you know. With over 15,000 games on sale, you’re sure to find something you or a friend can enjoy during the holiday break.
And just like other sales, this year’s event also features an interactive element built around trading cards and prizes. The Extremely Cozy Cottage of Surprises event is essentially and Advent Calendar within Steam. Each day, Steam will hand out randomized special rewards ranging from in-game items to things like profile backgrounds or new emoticons. Gamers can also vote in the eight categories of the annual Steam Awards to receive some special Winter Sale Trading Cards too. And of course, if you spend money, you earn Trading Cards for every $10 you buy in games.
The 2018 Steam Winter Sale ends on January 4th at 10am PST. Click here to convert this to your time.
