Take-Two has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been a massive success, far exceeding the popularity of the first game. The newest entry into the franchise shipped out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018 and it’s made a whole mint worth of money in that first month. In total, Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped 17 million copies overall to retailers.
Rockstar also announced that the game earned an incredible $725 million globally in its first three days on sale across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That’s just absurd. The game even managed to set multiple records on PSN on the Sony side of things. For example, RDR2 is the most pre-ordered full game on PlayStation Network. It also managed to set a new high-mark for day one sales of a game on PSN.
NPD Group analysts put out a report recently detailed that Red Dead Redemption 2 sold three times as many copies in the US during its launch month as the original Red Dead Redemption. According to a report in Venture Beat:
With just nine days of reported sales, Red Dead Redemption 2 is the second best-selling game of October 2018 and is now also the second best-selling game year to date. Red Dead Redemption 2 launch month sales more than tripled those of the previous title in the series, Red Dead Redemption, which launched May 2010.
Considering all this amazing news in terms of revenue for their latest game, Rockstar will be pretty happy. What do you think? Let us know in the comments down below.
