Pokémon Go adding Cresselia as a new Raid

Cresselia Joins Raid Rotation in Pokémon Go

The Legendary “Lunar” Pokémon from Diamond and Pearl has joined the roster in Pokémon Go as another Raid for players to test their mettle against. Being that this is likely the final major new Raid in 2018, it looks like Niantic wanted to go out with a bang. And it’s been a real banner year for the mobile game in terms of Raid content. Cresselia joins other mythical pokémon including Moltres, Regirock, Kyogre, Latios, and Celebi.

And being that this new addition is the top of the Tier 5 Raids, you’re gonna need to grind through the other four levels of Pokémon Go first to get access to it. There’s tons of different types, moves and challenges in these tiers, so you’ll need to be really flexible in terms of your move choices to get past all of the challenges.

Cresselia has a long elegant body and a mostly ethereal form, it’s a really beautiful Legendary. Honestly, this particular Legendary is one of my favorites visually from that particular generation of the games.

If you’re looking for help taking this beast down, it has some specific counters that work quite well. And since this Pokémon is primarily Psychic-type, Cresselia is weak to Bug, Dark and Ghost moves. So this means that there are some really strong counters that can be run against this particular Raid. Gengar, Tyranitar, Mewtwo and Deoxys, mostly running high-power Dark-type moves have been reported as an amazing choice as a primary counter.

Those who wish to challenge Cresselia can do so until December 18 when Pokémon Go’s Legendary Year wraps up. Cresselia is available in Pokemon GO from November 20 to December 18 2018 (1:00 PM PST). Check out the announcement of the Raid down below.
