Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot confirms Buu Saga too

Jump Force Adding Majin Buu

So we finally have some confirmation about what parts of the legendary Dragon Ball Z anime that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will cover from a story viewpoint. It’s finally been revealed that the long-suspect Buu Saga will be included as the final part of the story.

The English voice actor for Goku, Sean Schemmel, was interviewed by the website ComicBook.com earlier this month. In the interview, Schemmel said, “Kakarot is coming out in early 2020. It’s an RPG, you can play the entire Dragon Ball Z saga, all the way through the Buu saga, from beginning to end.”

This has not been expressly confirmed by Bandai Namco, but it might as well be at this point, as the voice actors would no doubt be privy to the inner workings of the project.

Fans of the franchise and this new title are rather excited about the prospect of getting to play though the stories that many of them grew up with. I had a blast playing through the Budokai games for this reason, and it looks like this latest title will be just so much more of that. And since the story has now been confirmed to carry players all the way through to the end of Z, with the addition of the Buu Saga, it’s going to be a lot of fun.

We’ve seen some other aspects of the game beyond just the basic story setup as well. Another gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot showed off the final brawl between Perfect Cell and Gohan as Super Saiyan 2, which was awesome. We will also see various iconic characters throughout the course of the story. The combat sections will of course feature the likes of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and many more, all as playable characters.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2020.
