PUBG, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood blast their way to Playstation Now

Playstation Now December 2019

Sony just detailed the new additions to Playstation Now starting in 2020. Games of the PS4 variety can expect three new mainline titles in December 2019. While this month’s additions to the PlayStation Now service aren’t huge in numbers, they do deliver quite a bit of action. If you’re looking for shooters, this is probably good month for you. That’s because there’s two new shooter games headed to the on-demand service soon.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the hit battle royale game leads the charge this month for PS Now. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, helped kick off the battle royale craze when it launched. And it remains a consistent draw for many. The tension of the ever-shrinking field of battle and dozens of unknown enemies can’t really be beat, so it’s easy to see why it became so popular so quickly.

The latter of the two new shooters, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is obviously about one thing, killing Nazis. In the futuristic alternate history of this game, the Nazi regime has managed to take multiple leaps forward in technology, and thus handily worn the Allies and their other enemies into dust. You play as consistent American badass, B.J. Blazkowicz. Your missions is obviously very simple.

These additions, and the games already on Playstation Now, bring the total number of games on the service to over 800. Sony has been trying quite hard in recent months to build their on-demand offering up. And although they’ve been beaten back a bit the Xbox Game Pass fusing with PC gaming, Sony is still holding strong.

And if you’re not in the mood for shooters this month, there’s even a new racing title coming the start line. F1 2019 will rev it’s engine and blitz onto PS Now as part of the December additions as well. Take your favorite F1 drivers around iconic tracks. Or better yet, build your own team in the deep and engaging career mode.

There is of course some bad news, as with the new month some games will be removed from the service. Playstation Now users will lose access to God of War, Uncharted 4, Grand Theft Auto V and InFamous: Second Son by January 2, 2020.
