Resident Evil Village to receive free DLC

All meal recipes in Resident Evil Village, and what they do

Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Riseare the big two releases in the last few years for Capcom, and they want to eek out more profit from them. A recent report has revealed that there’s a chance that more content could be coming for both games.

During Capcom’s annual company report, the company’s Director and Executive Officer, Yoichi Egawa, spoke about their ongoing efforts to support certain AAA titles and franchises. Part of that process appears to include some Resident Evil Village free DLC.

“We will drive our customer management to understand the playing trends and preferences of users while also building a business model for online operations,” said Egawa. “Taking into account the situation of our free additional DLC for titles such as Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village.”

No spoilers, but, the story is probably pretty much over. The main game ends pretty conclusively, although we could see some very interesting connective tissue. The odds of Ethan being the star are pretty low, at least as a continuation of the main story. Capcom is far more likely to give players some precursor content to the main story. We don’t exactly know what Resident Evil Village free DLC would be, but fans are speculating.

Much like what they did with Resident Evil 7, the developer will likely choose to show gamers and fans what happened leading up to the main story in Village. The majority of Resident Evil 7’s DLC, including the “End of Zoe” story expansion, the two “Banned Footage” were of this kind of prologue style. Players got to see what happened to Ethan and co. before the main story kicked off, helping to flesh out the world around the characters.

The one exception to this, the Not a Hero expansion starring Chris Redfield, did help expand the story. Since the ending of Village features Chris, it’s possible we could be seeing more of him.
