With Niantic trying to make the game more engaging with Beyond Seasons, things got a lot more interesting. And Season 8 will be continuing with that.

With the advent of PvP battle leagues in 2020, the game underwent a transformation. Niantic put a lot more focus on the in-game events that would be a major focal point.
