Pokémon Go Searching for Legends is about to begin. Like other Niantic events, the game features a variety of different tasks to complete. These event-based tasks are pretty simple, and you can earn some sweet rewards for doing them. Trainers will be able to take part in the event from Tuesday, March 9 at 10 AM to Sunday, March 14 at 8 AM Local Time.
Just like any other special research events in the game, each one completed means special rewards and encounters. Each Lunar New Year 2021 special research task includes a bunch of different tasks you can do, and a few rewards for each one. Most of these involve making perfect throws with captures, or catching Rock-type Pokémon, so they’re very easy to get done.
Magenemite and other Pokémon will be a big part of the event this time around. The tasks completed will reward XP, Pokéballs, and other items to use for your roster. Here are all the Pokemon GO ‘Searching for Legends’ Timed Research tasks and rewards:
Searching for Legends (Step 1)
- Take a snapshot of a Ground-type Pokemon: Stardust x300
- Catch 10 Ground-type Pokemon: Poke Ball x8
- Rewards: 100 XP, Nosepass encounter
Searching for Legends (Step 2)
- Use 3 Nanab Berries to help catch Pokemon: Magenemite
- Use 3 Razz Berries to help catch Pokemon: Magenemite
- Use 3 Pinap Berries to help catch Pokemon: Magenemite
- Rewards: 200 XP, Nosepass
Searching for Legends (Step 3)
- Take a snapshot of a Rock-type Pokemon: Stardust x300
- Catch 10 Rock-type Pokemon: Poke Ball x8
- Rewards: 300 XP, Nosepass
Searching for Legends (Step 4)
- Defeat 1 Team GO Rocket Grunt: Galarian Stunkfisk
- Rewards: 400 XP, Nosepass
Searching for Legends (Step 5)
- Take a snapshot of a Steel-type Pokemon: Stardust x300
- Catch 10 Steel-type Pokemon: 8 PokeBalls
- Rewards: 500 XP, Nosepass Encounter
Searching for Legends (Step 6)
- Make 3 Curveball throws: Baltoy
- Make 6 Curveball throws: Forretress
- Make 9 Curveball throws: Ferroseed
- Rewards: 600 XP, Nosepass
Searching for Legends (Step 7)
- Use an Incense: Shieldon
- Catch 45 Steel-type Pokemon: 1 Silver Pinap Berry
- Rewards: 700 XP, Nosepass, Magnetic Lure Module
The event will also feature various exclusives that can be seen as encounters. You can get various 5 KM egg spawns like Magnemite, Nosepass, Aron, Baltoy and more during the tasks. Spawns for these, as well as other Pokémon like Diglett will be boosted as well. And yes, incense boosts apply as well. The other monsters mentioned, as well as Alolan Diglett, Alolan Geodude and more will be attracted.
