Finally, some more news about the next installment in the Need for Speed racing game franchise. The publisher has added a counter on the game’s official page that ends on August 14th. This means that we’re about to head into a full reveal of the long-awaited sequel this week.
After the game skipped the last few major conventions, like not being at EA Play 2019, the fans of the racing franchise held out a little less hope for the state of the new entry into the franchise. Since it’s been a long time since the last major game in the series, with Need for Speed Payback being the last title in 2017, racing fans and speed demons are still left wanting more.
And since we have seen precious little of the title in action, a lot of people within the games industry are very skeptical about progress and the overall quality of the final product. Leaks posted on Amazon suggested that the title was to be called Need for Speed Heat, although this wasn’t confirmed.
With Ghost Games hard at work, ostensibly to try and deliver a quality experience, fans of the games have a tense couple of days ahead of them. In terms of what to expect, that’s pretty unclear. It could be something as simple as a teaser trailer with a release window. Or it could be a full-blown spectacle featuring gameplay footage and details. We will have to wait until this Wednesday to find out.
