How to Find Amethyst Geodes in Minecraft

How to Get Smooth Basalt in Minecraft

Version 1.17 of Minecraft has added a bunch of new stuff to the adventure game. Basalt has been added to the game. Like many other raw ores in the game, it has its uses. You can use it for certain crafting recipes or decorative projects. But that’s not all that has been put in. The giant rock formations you see dotted around contain brilliant crystal formations. Amethyst Geodes in Minecraft are kind of hard to find, but they can be easy to spot once you know what to look for.

How to Find Amethyst Geodes in Minecraft

To find amethyst, you need to first find the geode, which is a spherical structure made of basalt. Once you find basalt, crack it open and the crystals can be mined from inside. So you need to be able to find the Geodes, which are pretty obvious once you know what to look for.

There are two places to find these balls of rock. The best option to find these spherical structures is under the sea. Run along beaches near spawn and see if you can spot any. They are very large spheres of rock, so they’re kind of hard to miss. The other option is to head underground. You need to go below Z-level 70 or deeper to find the geodes underground.
