Monster Hunter World: Iceborne showcases weapons once again

Monster Hunter World Iceborne Announced

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is coming this year, in September specifically, and fans of the Capcom title are really excited about it. I know I’m eager to hop back into the lands of Astera and beyond when the new expansion drops. So to drum up even more hype, Capcom has been teasing new and returning weapons and gear in Iceborne. These trailers are effectively the same trailers we’ve seen before, just translated to English and combined into three categories. The trailers are all pretty short, but still offer some interesting teases of the changes due in the expansion.

The Heavy Weapons trailer covers things like the Hammer, Greatsword, Lance and more. The Light Weapons trailer covers things like the Dual Blades, the new Clutch Claw and more.  The Technical Weapons trailer covers the Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Insect Glaive and more.

And speaking of the new Clutch Claw, this nifty piece of gear interfaces with many different types of weapons to completely change the gameplay styles of each weapon type. Players can now latch onto their quarry much easier than before. You can also fire of burst of slinger ammo as part of your normal combo strings. And of course, you can use it just like the grappling hook to quickly traverse different areas.

And you’re going to need all of this new kit as you tackle the new areas and beasts of Iceborne. As you trek through the icy wastes, tracking down and harvesting new beasts, the challenges of the Master Rank hunts are going to test your mettle in entirely new ways. Can you brave the new land and hunt down the dangerous new Elder Dragon? Find out when the expansion drops later this year.

The expansion is due to launch for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 6, with a PC release later ‘this Winter’.
