Monster Hunter Frontier Z getting another update this year

Monster Hunter Frontier ZZ Update Details

Monster Hunter Frontier is not Monster Hunter World, but it is a popular Monster Hunter title for the last console generation. It’s also an MMORPG, which is a significant difference for many fans of the series. The game has received multiple updates over the years, and it’s about to get one more.

According to a listing from 4Gamer, this content update is getting more details on August 24, so keep your eyes open around that time. There’s also some planned crossover content with Phantasy Star Online 2 planned, so that could be cool.

We don’t know much about what this ZZ (Read: Double Z) update will entail, but we do know that it will introduce a new weapon type and associated mechanics to the game. That new weapon is called the Magnet Spike, and it will join the Tonfa as one of the exclusive weapons to Monster Hunter Frontier.

This content update may also include a new Weekly Event for Frontier, joining the Conquest War, Hunter Festival and other in-game festivities, we’ll just have to wait and see.

So the good news is that the people still playing Monster Hunter Frontier Z are getting an update, but the bad news is that not everyone is going to be able to get it. Monster Hunter Frontier Z is currently available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC, as well as a limited PS4 release late in 2016. However, at the end of July 2018, support for the Xbox 360 and Wii U versions will end, and they will not be getting this content update.
