Dragon Quest Builders 2 will have multiplayer support, coming west in 2019

Dragon Quest Builders 2 PS4 Gameplay

Square Enix has unveiled more details about their upcoming game, Dragon Quest Builders 2: Destruction God Malroth and the Empty Island.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 puts the player in control of a heroic character who gets themselves stranded on a remote island. The player must find materials to build a home and town on the island, meet new characters and party members. The game includes a deep farming and crafting system, and the player needs to take advantage of that to succeed, ultimately using this as a springboard for exploration of the larger world.

Another large element of the game is customization. The player can change the appearance and gear of their characters to their heart’s content. These options also extend to multiplayer characters as well.

Square Enix also announced some details about the online multiplayer which will be part of the game. Unfortunately, it’s not unlocked from the start. The multiplayer section will unlock at a certain point while progressing through the singleplayer. The PS4 and Switch versions will have different forms of multiplayer too.
