Nintendo Switch owners got a nice little surprise this week with the launch of one more addition to the roster of the tennis game.
According to the trailer from Nintendo, Boom Boom will be available to players participating in the game’s online tournament during the month of February (2/1-2/28); after that, Boom Boom will be available to all players of Mario Tennis Aces starting on March 1. In the preceding month of February, there’s another character planned to come onto the court in-game, that’s the online-exclusive character Luna.
Boom Boom as a character is a bit slower than more aggressive players, but has a slew of defensive and control options to make up for that. Alongside the likes of Waluigi the Super Mario Bros. 3 villain will bring a lot of heat and fire to the court.
Mario Tennis Aces has brought over a significant number of iconic Nintendo characters and locales. there’s quite a few fan favorites in there, and Boom Boom is just the latest addition. Since the release of the game in June 2018 many wonderful characters from the Mario, Donkey Kong and other franchises have shown up for a match or two.
Mario Tennis Aces is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch, and you can take a long look at Boom Boom in action in a new trailer from Nintendo, which can be seen below.
