How to unlock fast travel points in Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 Release Date Leaked

Fast travel is vital in many open-world games. The crux of this mechanic is exploration. As you get shuffled around the map fighting for the liberation of Yara in Far Cry 6, you will notice a lot of locations that you will have to come back to. As a result, fast travel points in Far Cry 6 are very important. One of the first things you should do is purchase the Hideout Network upgrades for your town. That makes it so you unlock crucial mechanics you will need later.

To use the feature, simply open your map by pressing the touchpad on PlayStation or the View button on Xbox. Then, select the location you want to fast travel to with the left analog stick and then press and hold Square/X to warp to that spot. Now, here’s how to unlock more spots to use.

What can become a fast travel point?

There are a few things you can do to create new fast travel points. Mainly, you need to either take over hostile locations, or visit friendly ones. Once you have that Hideout Network upgrade, this will allow you to add new friendly destinations to the system.

Military checkpoints and bases/depots are some of the best things to turn over to your side. You get to reduce the enemy threat, but you also gain a fast travel spot. These are marked on the map with a gate icon, so it makes them a bit easier to find while looking around Yara.

Exempting hitting the big bases, you have another option, Guerrilla bases. These massive complexes have tons of resources and can be found in many different regions. One of the first you might end up getting to is the Montero Farm in Madrugada. There are many more scattered all over that act as the main base for the Libertad fighters. These bases will be your primary safe zones on the islands. You will find mini-games to play and things to build, One of the first things you should find is the Construction Desk for building upgrades in your bases. These will be integral for game progress. You will find these marked with a larger than normal house icon on the map.

Guerilla Hideouts are a much easier target to hit. Depending on what missions you join, you can get access to different targets to take out. These bases will be one of your secondary safe zones. These have a workbench for making upgrades, as well as a new Bandidos board for bounties and other missions. They also regularly have vehicles you have free reign to use. These are marked with a house icon on the map.

This also applies to towns that can be visited as well. Concepcion in El Este is one place that, once you find it, can be a fast travel point.

The Wingsuit will make this process so much easier. When you want to find hidden locales all over the map, you need to get around quickly. You really don’t want to be stuck hoofing it, that takes way too long. Instead, go and complete the story to the point to unlock the Wingsuit. Once you build the Hideout Network in your faction HQ, you get it.
