How to heal in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Overview Trailer

There’s a lot of new and interesting things to cover in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Given the story contrivance of having the timeline long before the previous games, there have been a ton of changes. The pastures in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are basically just the PC from other entries. You also have the ability to access a bunch of newer systems as well, such as the Mystery Gift. Other new systems include the addition of Merit Points, a way to encourage exploration and more item rewards.

There have been many new additions and brought forward mechanics this time around. Fast travel is back and easier than ever before. Players have a simplified system around Shiny hunting, as well as held items in the new RPG. That’s not all that’s been changed either. There’s an option to change a Pokémon’s name in Pokémon Legends: Arceus now as well. One thing that has been changed is that the evolution system is now manual, giving Trainers more granular control over their teams.

How to heal in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

One of the core aspects of any RPG is healing yourself and your allies. Keeping you and your team up to snuff is key to success. Trainers have to have their knowledge locked down and understand how the game works to succeed. The competitive scene looks like it could be full of potential. But that hinges on how the whole system works. Here’s what we know about how to heal in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Along with the pastures added to handle extra captures, there’s a few methods to handle healing in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as well. Expectations around the use of both a dedicated healing spot, as well as healing items, seem to be the point. When you want to heal in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you need to use one of two options.

You can either use items like Herbal medicine, or certain held items. The herbal medicine you make during your adventures will offer a minor healing effect, akin to Potions in other games. For example, you need to find a Leek and Oran Berry to make this basic healing item.

The real focus for healing is when you visit the Base Camp. This is your home away from home and where you go to heal your team. By opening the map, you can travel to your camps in each region. These can be spotted by the obvious tents around. Make note of where these spawn, as you will need to return to them over time to heal. And there may be more to do here as well. It seems like the cooking and friendship systems found in Sword and Shield will also be in the final game.
