Shenmue I & II will be released for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on August 21, Sega and Microsoft have announced.
The games star Ryo Hazuki, an 18-year-old martial arts student who embarks on a quest to avenge the death of his father. That plot revolves mostly around punching people in the face and collecting toys from coin-op machines. Yes, I’m serious.
And for those wondering about the technical aspects of the remakes, it will be possible to scale resolution, and both games feature modernized controls and options for original Japanese dialogue. The original Dreamcast games never looked better. There’s also lots of mini-games that have been recreated, along with the locales of Hong Kong, Japan and China, so all the 80’s flair is alive and well in these remakes.
If you’re someone looking for a physical copy of the game, it can already be pre-ordered on Amazon.
