The release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus may end up being a new high for the series. There’s been a bunch of streamlining to these games on the Switch. The Pokémon Company has likely paid a bit of attention to fan complaints over the years. Finally, they seem to be listening, and making a few things easier. By borrowing the taxi system from Sword and Shield, this game is clearly aimed at making it easier to play. There’s a full system for fast travel in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Here’s how to use it.
There have been positive changes to the game, like refining the shiny system. This makes it much easier to get shiny spawns by reducing the time it takes to find them. There have also been things changed that players seem not to like. For one thing, the evolution system has been stripped down, and players have to manually trigger evolutions now. But anyway, back to the topic of this guide.
How to fast travel in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
To actually do this, you do need to progress into the game a little bit. In previous Pokémon games, you often had to unlock the Fly HM and use the “HM slave” idea, or have a dedicated Pokémon in your party that only had HM moves. This kind of archaic reliance on backtracking is very annoying to players both new and old. And Game Freak are right to change it.
Simply open up your Satchel and scroll to the Map tab. Any locations visited during your adventure will be unlocked for fast travel in Pokémon Legends: Arceus here. You will see them marked with blue Wing Markers. By hovering over each marker, you can have your Trainer fly there with a simple loading screen.
That’s not all that’s been changed either. There’s an option to change a Pokémon’s name in Pokémon Legends: Arceus now as well.
