Horizon Forbidden West is here, and Sony fans are exploring the massive world. The story of Aloy has already found a ton of bunch of cool stuff. But to find it, you have to do the exploration. The game’s fast travel option certainly makes completing the game easier, so learning about that’s a good idea. There are many other mechanics you will want to familiarize yourself with. OF the many systems in the game, crafting new gear and weapons is pretty important.
The combat Aloy has to fight through also has some dangerous elements. Though Aloy has a ton of weapons she can put to use and take out her wild foes, she will likely take damage. Players will have to heal her sometimes to keep her in the fight. The devs have put in a few helpful methods to keep Aloy in good mind and body.
How to heal in Horizon Forbidden West
There are two primary ways to heal in this game, and we’re going to cover both of them. Both of them rely on crafting to some degree. They also rely a lot on exploration and foraging. The basic way to heal involves finding and consuming healing items found around the wild areas. At the start of the game, you’re given 10x Medicinal Berries. These are a fairly weak healing item, but they can be found all over the place. As you explore, look out for the blue herbs with green stalks. They tend to stand out, so be on the lookout for the Medicinal Berries. To consume one herb and heal a small amount, press Up on the D-pad.
Potions help too
When you run out of foraged items that let you heal in Horizon Forbidden West, you have one more option. To make them, you need to head back to a safe zone. To make potions, go to any workbench in the game and select Potion Crafting. This brings up the crafting menu. Each potion uses two medicinal berries and one wild meat. That’s why exploration is so important, as you need these ingredients in large quantities.
There are three types of healing potions in the game. Each one uses more components, but has a more potent healing effect.
To use potions when you have them on hand, scroll through your gear by pressing left or right on the D-Pad. Then, press down on the D-Pad to use the selected potion.
At the start of the game, you can only have three potions in your possession, but you can get much more. You will also need to upgrade your capacity to carry more than the default three health potions. You will need to gather Metal Shards and Squirrel Hides to make the upgrades.
