How to get party hat Pikachu, Eevee, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur in Pokémon Go

As part of ongoing events in Pokémon Go, players are getting the chance to capture a wide array of special Pokémon. This new event ties in with the anniversary of the mobile game, as well as the first feature film based on the iconic anime and games franchise. That first film introduced Mewtwo and a variety of other interesting twists that have now made their way into Pokémon Go.

Part of this event involves players being able to capture special clones of popular and powerful Pokémon, but also some festive variants of  Pikachu, Eevee, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur, all wearing party hats. You should be able to see their party hats on their heads in the overworld. and yes they wear them into battle as well. This makes spotting the special spawns much easier.

To capture the party hat variants of Pikachu, Eevee, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur, each one has its own spawn requirements.

The special party hat Pikachu and Eevee Pokémon are the first one you should aim for, as it is the easiest of the four special variants to catch. These can be encountered around as unique spawns anywhere in the world. There is also a chance that these two will spawn as a Shiny version as well, adding to the mystique and prestige of catching one.

If you’re looking for the party hat Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur, there’s going to be a bit more involved in snagging them. The first and most common source for these three party hat monsters is in seven-kilometer eggs. Not only will you need to have a fresh egg, as already existing eggs won’t be set to spawn the unique variants, but you need the free incubator slot to actually get the spawn in the first place. Check you friends lists and start collecting Gifts to have a chance at the eggs you need.

Additionally, they should show up as one-star raids. Check the star rating of a raid to see which one gets the rating you need. Simply defeat the relevant raid once you find a spawn with the party hat variant to get the reward.

The events for these spawns run from February 25th to March 2nd, so get out and start hunting.
